The lists of words in black represent a separate and different puzzle from the words in red.
The solution has four numbers, one per card.
The red puzzles are related to the pictures on the cards.
The two hints are color-coded for the puzzle they help with.
The red puzzles determine the order of the cards, chronologically.
The black puzzles provide the four digits of the solution. Bonus hint: Xeric is a word.
The red puzzle includes four women. One is an aviator, one a poet, one a scientist, and one a ruler. Their names are scrambled to form the red words.
The black words on the cards are all missing a letter at the start.
The four women are Cleopatra, Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, and Maya Angelou. The black words above them are each missing a first letter, and those missing first letters spell a number. So, 'Lick Slam Eric' becomes 'Slick Islam Xeric,' spelling S-I-X. The others are similar.
